Senior Partner of IGM Advisers Group and Executive Director of the Qazaq National Parks Foundation, Maxim Handrabura, took part in the presentation of the master plan for the development of green tourism within the framework of the Almaty–Bishkek Economic Corridor (ABEC) project of the Asian Development Bank (ADB).
The event brought together key stakeholders to present a comprehensive strategy integrating the principles of sustainable development into the tourism industry of the region. The strategy is aimed at preserving the natural ecosystems of Kazakhstan’s national parks, developing local economies, creating jobs and promoting cultural exchange along the corridor with minimal environmental impact.
The keynote address was delivered by Javier Gonzalez — an internationally recognised tourism expert who presented innovative approaches to balancing economic growth and environmental responsibility.
During the meeting substantive discussions were held with representatives of Kazakhstan’s national parks, industry associations and government structures. Participants jointly discussed challenges and developed practical solutions — from the development of eco-tourism infrastructure to the introduction of nature conservation initiatives with the participation of local communities.
Participation in this forum confirms the consistent position of IGM Advisers and QNP Foundation: international partnerships such as the ABEC project can become a real driver of sustainable change in Central Asia.
